3 Inch SPM Brass-Backed Seals: Backup Profile and Kit Identification
For the brass-backed seal, specify rubber profile, seal OD/ID, backup-ring section and metal grade from the original parts drawing. Confirm whether the backing is bonded or supplied as a separate component. A 3 inch connection size alone does not identify the seal geometry.
The listed kit components include rubber rings, snap rings, seals, steel balls and ball plugs. Agree each part number, dimension and quantity against the joint bill of materials before packing; do not assume every kit contains the same component set.
Provide service fluid, temperature and operating duty for compound review. Inspect the joint body and bearing surfaces before repair, and follow the maker's assembly and post-repair test procedure. The kit does not establish a new assembly pressure rating.
