4 Inch HNBR Hammer Union Replacement Seal Enquiries 

Product Description

Hammer union seals are used in the connections between flexible hoses or pipes used in the oil drilling industry. The seal provides a critical fluid tight connection within the union hardware.

Hammer unions consist of a thread end, a nut end, and a hammer nut that when tightened seal the assembly with the assistance of an elastomer seal. Match the lip profile and retention features to the original groove and manufacturer drawing.

With brass ring: Specify the brass support geometry and alloy required by the original seal drawing. Review fluid compatibility and service conditions for the complete seal construction; a brass ring alone does not establish sealing performance or service life.

With stainless ring : Specify the stainless steel grade and support dimensions on the drawing. Review corrosion compatibility against the actual fluid, temperature and exposure conditions. Different stainless grades and support geometries are not automatically interchangeable.

4 Inch HNBR Union Seal: Confirm Pressure-Seal or Dust-Protection Function

Identify whether the required part is a union pressure-sealing element or a separate dust-protection plug. These functions require different drawings and acceptance criteria. A dust plug must not be assumed to close a pressurized connection. Send the original part reference, union figure and a drawing showing where the part fits.

For the 4 inch HNBR seal enquiry, four inches is the nominal connection reference. Confirm the actual seal diameters, section and any brass or stainless support ring. State the exact HNBR compound, hardness scale and target; an unspecified hardness value is not enough to approve the replacement.

Provide fluid composition, temperature, pressure cycling and any gas exposure or decompression requirements. The complete union assembly determines working-pressure limits. HNBR identity alone does not establish sour-service qualification. Confirm dimensional, compound and application requirements with the quotation.
