NBR Hammer Union Seal Rings for 1-4 Inch Oilfield Unions
NBR hammer union seal rings are replacement elastomer components for specified oilfield union connections. NBR, Buna-N and nitrile refer to the material family listed for this product. Match the required compound and seal profile to the union manufacturer, figure and drawing for each 1-4 inch nominal size.
Product Specification
1. Pressure Reference: Confirm the complete union assembly rating and operating conditions. The FIG 602, 1002 and 1502 references identify union types; they do not specify the pressure capability of an individual rubber ring.
2. NBR Compound: Specify the approved nitrile compound, fluid composition and temperature exposure. Include cleaning agents and any gas exposure in the service review.
3. Replacement Inspection: Compare the seal dimensions and profile with the drawing. Check the mating pocket and follow the equipment maintenance procedure before assembly.
4. Nominal Sizes: The 1, 2, 3 and 4 inch references identify union sizes. Actual ring dimensions, tolerances and anti-extrusion parts must be specified for the selected union construction.
5. Acceptance Requirements: Agree dimensional and material checks for the NBR replacement ring and the required assembled-union test. Compound selection does not itself establish leak-free or sour-service performance.
Specify NBR Compound and Ring Profile for Repeat Replacements
For a repeat nitrile seal order, provide the union manufacturer, FIG designation, nominal union size and drawing revision. Identify ring inside and outside dimensions, section profile and any separate support parts from the approved drawing. Keep each size as a separate order line.
Use the approved NBR compound reference together with nominal Shore A hardness and tolerance. The listed 70-90 Shore A range describes options rather than a hardness tolerance for one ring. Retain the accepted sample reference when replacing an established part.
Confirm the supplied ring and inspection documentation against the order before installation. FKM, HSN and metal support references in the retained table describe other options that need their own approval; they are not automatic substitutes for the specified NBR ring.
