HNBR and FKM Union Seals for Sour-Service Enquiries
Provide the union manufacturer, figure, nominal size and seal part number, together with H2S and CO2 concentrations, fluid composition, pressure, temperature and decompression conditions. HNBR, HSN or FKM naming alone does not establish sour-service qualification. Specify the compound grade, required tests and metal back-up configuration before confirming supply.

Product Description
Hammer union seals are used in the connections between flexible hoses or pipes used in the oil drilling industry. The seal provides a critical fluid tight connection within the union hardware.
Hammer unions consist of a thread end, a nut end, and a hammer nut that when tightened seal the assembly with the assistance of an elastomeric seal. Lip and retention geometry depend on the exact union design; confirm the part drawing.
Common Hammer Union Types include Threaded Hammer Unions (40, 50, and 602 to 1502),Butt Weld Hammer Unions (602, 1502, and 2202),Threaded & Butt Weld Hammer Unions (100 to 400)

Union seal with brass ring
|

Specify the stainless steel grade and back-up ring dimensions required by the union drawing. Compatibility depends on the alloy, fluid chemistry and temperature; confirm the approved configuration rather than substituting an unspecified stainless ring.

Rubber-only configurations require the specified seal profile, compound and hardness for the union seat. Confirm operating temperatures, fluid compatibility and the complete assembly rating; performance cannot be inferred from rubber material alone.
