Hammer Union Seal are used in the connections between flexible hoses or pipes used in the oil drilling industry. The seal provides a critical fluid tight connection within the union hardware.
Hammer Union consists of a thread end, a nut end, and a hammer nut that when tightened seal the assembly with the assistance of an elastomeric seal. The seal is lipped to prevent it from falling out when inverted.

Figure 602, 1002 and 1502 Hammer Union Seals: Match the Profile Before Selecting Material
For replacement hammer union gaskets, identify the union manufacturer, Figure number, nominal line size and seal recess drawing. The Figure 602, 1002 and 1502 designations describe different union configurations; the listing of several figures does not establish that one seal fits every assembly. Weco references identify the requested mating equipment and do not imply original-brand manufacture or authorization.
Specify NBR, HNBR or FKM with the fluid formulation, operating temperature and pressure cycles. Review the brass or stainless support ring against the required extrusion clearance and approved seal profile. PTFE needs a separate thermoplastic design review; its hardness scale and temperature limits cannot be transferred to the rubber alternatives.
For a quotation, send the Figure and size together with seal dimensions, support-ring requirements and quantity. Pressure suitability follows the documented complete union rating and operating conditions. ISO 9001 describes the quality management system; any requested API conformity needs the applicable standard, scope and supporting product documentation.
