Hammer Union Seal are used in the connections between flexible hoses or pipes used in the oil drilling industry. The seal provides a critical fluid tight connection within the union hardware.
Hammer Union consists of a thread end, a nut end, and a hammer nut that when tightened seal the assembly with the assistance of an elastomeric seal. The seal is lipped to prevent it from falling out when inverted.

2, 3 and 4 Inch Hammer Union Gaskets: Specify Line Size and Seal Dimensions Separately
This enquiry covers replacement seals for nominal 2, 3 and 4 inch hammer union connections. Nominal pipe size is not the seal inner diameter or cross-section. Supply the mating union Figure, manufacturer and drawing together with measured seal dimensions; two unions of the same line size can require different seal profiles.
For pressure-line maintenance, specify the approved brass or stainless support-ring configuration and the actual fluid duty. NBR, HNBR and FKM are compound alternatives requiring compatibility review; PTFE requires its own profile, support and test-scale specification. Colour identifies the requested appearance and should not be used alone to identify the polymer or service rating.
Order separate quantities for each nominal size and include drawing tolerances, pressure peaks, operating temperature and any inspection-document requirements. Weco references describe the requested mating equipment rather than original-brand manufacture. Pressure capability is determined by the complete documented union assembly. ISO 9001 does not establish API product certification or sour-service qualification.
