Product Introduction
Hammer Union Seals are used in the connections between flexible hoses or pipes used in the oil drilling industry. The seal provides a critical fluid tight connection within the union hardware.
Hammer Unions consist of a thread end, a nut end, and a hammer nut that when tightened seal the assembly with the assistance of an elastomeric seal. The seal is lipped to prevent it from falling out when inverted.
Material Introduction
NBR, HNBR and FKM are rubber compound alternatives. PTFE is a thermoplastic needing separate profile and support review. Compare the selected grade with the specified fluid and operating exposure.

Colour-Specified Hammer Union Seals for Oilfield Replacement Orders
Specify the required colour together with the polymer compound and mating union drawing. A coloured hammer union seal can support part identification, but colour alone does not establish NBR, HNBR, FKM or PTFE identity, fluid compatibility or pressure rating. Agree the identification scheme for each size and material before ordering.
The nominal 1 to 7 inch range describes union-size enquiries rather than a single seal dimension. Confirm each requested size, Figure number, seal profile and brass or stainless support-ring configuration individually. PTFE is a thermoplastic construction; rubber hardness values and temperature limits do not transfer to it.
For custom orders, provide colour reference, drawing revision, compound requirements, fluid exposure, operating temperature and pressure cycles. Request separate labels and quantities for each approved configuration. Inspection and sample acceptance requirements should accompany the enquiry; assembly pressure rating and any sour-service qualification require supporting documentation.
