Product Introduction
Hammer Union Seals are used in the connections between flexible hoses or pipes used in the oil drilling industry. The seal provides a critical fluid tight connection within the union hardware.
Hammer Unions consist of a thread end, a nut end, and a hammer nut that when tightened seal the assembly with the assistance of an elastomeric seal. The seal is lipped to prevent it from falling out when inverted.
Material Introduction
NBR, HNBR and FKM are rubber compound alternatives. PTFE is a thermoplastic needing separate profile and support review. Compare the selected grade with the specified fluid and operating exposure.

Black HNBR Hammer Union Seal for Nominal 4 Inch Connections
This black HNBR replacement seal enquiry is for a nominal 4 inch hammer union connection. Confirm the Figure number, mating hardware and seal drawing before ordering; 4 inch denotes the union line size rather than the seal inner diameter. Specify the required rubber-only, brass-support or stainless-support configuration.
For sour-fluid enquiries, provide gas composition, H2S and CO2 partial pressures, operating temperature and pressure, exposure duration and decompression conditions. The HNBR polymer name and black colour do not establish sour-service or rapid-gas-decompression qualification. Request test documentation for the exact compound and required duty before selecting the seal.
