1 to 7 Inch Union Seals: NBR, FKM and HNBR Compound and Color Options

Hammer union seals are used in the connections between flexible hoses or pipes used in the oil drilling industry. The seal provides a critical fluid tight connection within the union hardware.
Hammer unions consist of a thread end, a nut end, and a hammer nut that when tightened seal the assembly with the assistance of an elastomeric seal. The seal is lipped to prevent it from falling out when inverted.
Some profiles such as Fig 206, Fig 1004, Fig 1502, Fig 2002, Fig 602, Fig 1002 etc require a Hammer Union Lip Seal or an 'O'Ring depending on the Size of the Hammer Union.
We produce 1" ,1.5",2",3",4" ,6" and 7"Hammer Union Seals in NBR, FKM or HNBR compounds selected for the specified fluid and service requirements. In addition to the standard molded rubber seals, we offer these with either a brass or stainless steel anti-extrusion ring.

Color identification for mixed-size union seal orders

For orders covering 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 inch nominal connections, identify each seal by the union manufacturer, figure reference and profile drawing. Nominal connection size alone does not define the seal dimensions. Agree a color code for warehouse sorting and keep the compound designation on the packaging; color does not establish NBR, FKM or HNBR composition, hardness or service suitability. Specify the approved hardness and any brass or stainless steel backing separately for each item. Use the same part reference and drawing revision when replenishing stock.
