Reviewing backed seals for an existing pressure-rated union

Identify the complete union assembly and its manufacturer rating before selecting a replacement seal. Supply the figure, nominal connection size and seal drawing for each 1, 1.5, 2, 3 or 4 inch enquiry. Confirm the required lip geometry, rubber compound and backing ring dimensions; specify brass or stainless steel according to that drawing. Include the operating fluid and temperature for compound review. Use the equipment manufacturer’s installation and inspection procedure, and keep approved seal references with the assembly maintenance record. A replacement seal or metal backing does not increase the assembly rating.
