Hydraulic O-Ring Selection: Separate Static Joint and Moving Gland Requirements

An O-ring pressure rating requires the complete gland and compound data. AS568 identifies dimensions; it does not qualify a ring for every hydraulic or oilfield application. Sour-gas and decompression suitability require compound-specific qualification.

Royal Way rubber O-rings for hydraulic and oilfield equipment are selected for the actual sealing location. State whether the groove is static or moving, and provide dimensions, fluid and pressure conditions. Standard and custom sizes require an exact part specification; the same nominal ring size does not establish suitability for different gland duties.

Application of the rubber o ring:

For static pipe, cover or equipment joints, identify pressure direction, sealing faces and groove geometry. For moving hydraulic glands, include stroke speed, lubrication, mating surface finish and the equipment seal arrangement. Review oilfield gas composition and decompression requirements separately where relevant.
