NBR nitrile hammer union seal rings are replacement sealing elements for compatible hose and pipe union connections used in oil-drilling equipment. Specify the nominal connection size, union figure and original seal drawing so that each ring matches its intended groove.

                                 Product Description                                                  

A hammer union comprises of a thread end, a nut end and a hammer nut which, when cinched up, compresses a composite seal assembly thereby preventing leakage.

The seal assembly comprises a metal insert of a size to pass into the seal groove of conventional hammer unions and a small seal acting between the insert, the thread end and the nut end.

The small seal is conveniently an O-ring or a Hammer Union Seal (Lip Seal) and is of a size that is compressed when the seal assembly is inserted into the thread end of the hammer union.

A hammer union is the complete metal connection; the seal is its replaceable sealing element. Confirm the manufacturer drawing and groove for each connection.

Material:

NBR, nitrile and Buna-N identify the material family for this lip-seal listing. Specify the exact NBR compound and Shore A hardness for each drawing. Alternative HNBR, FKM, PU or PTFE options are reviewed and quoted separately.

NBR / Buna-N Union Lip Seal Orders: Define Material and Acceptance Criteria

Specify the NBR compound together with the union figure, nominal size and lip-section drawing. Include any brass or stainless support ring as part of the construction. Buna-N and nitrile are material-family names; they do not identify a unique hardness, formulation or operating limit.

Agree dimensional tolerances, hardness target and required material documentation before sample approval. ISO 9001 relates to the quality management system; product acceptance follows the agreed drawing and specification. State batch identification and packaging requirements on the order.

Provide fluid formulation, additives, temperature and pressure cycling for compatibility review. Compare quotations for the same compound, drawing and support construction. Complete union ratings and any sour-service qualification require separate application-specific confirmation.
