Hammer union seals are used in the connections between flexible hoses or pipes used in the oil drilling industry. The seal provides a critical fluid tight connection within the union hardware.

                                 Product Description                                                  

Figure 1502 NBR replacement rings use nitrile rubber, also called Buna-N, in the seal profile specified for the identified union. Confirm the manufacturer and part drawing for a WECO-referenced replacement. The union hardware compresses the ring in its mating recess; nominal pipe size is not a seal dimension and does not establish fit across different union designs.

For an NBR replacement order, specify nominal connection size, actual ring dimensions, Shore A hardness and any brass or stainless steel backing. Provide fluid composition, temperature and required assembly service conditions. Other figures such as 602, 1002, 2002 or 2202 require separately matched profiles and drawings.

Material:

NBR/nitrile for this enquiry; Shore A hardness per approved compound and part specification. HNBR alternatives require separate confirmation.

For a Figure 1502 assembly, any 15,000 psi working or 22,500 psi test requirement must be confirmed against the complete identified equipment configuration and its test evidence. No standalone seal rating is established by those figures. Backed and unbacked replacement rings must match the specified recess and should not be substituted solely on nominal size.
