1. NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber): Standard Service

Q1: How do I know if I need a "Wide Style" repair kit?
A: Identify the manufacturer, model and revision from the equipment marking or drawing. Compare the packing dimensions and bearing arrangement with the removed parts. Nominal size, Fig 1502 wording or flowline duty alone does not confirm wide-style fit or interchangeability.

Q2: Can I use NBR seals for H2S service if the pressure is low?
A: Low operating pressure alone does not establish sour-service suitability. Provide H2S concentration or partial pressure, fluid chemistry, temperature and exposure duration. Qualification applies to the specific elastomer and metal components; neither NBR nor HNBR should be approved solely by its material name.
