Molding process selection for custom rubber components:
- Compression Molding: Rubber is placed in a mold cavity and cured under heat and pressure. Review loading, parting lines, flash and geometry when assessing this process.
- Injection Molding: A measured rubber charge is injected into a heated mold and cured. Review gates, vents, wall sections and demolding requirements against the selected compound and drawing.
- Transfer Molding: Rubber is forced from a transfer chamber through runners into the mold cavities and cured under heat. Gate marks and runner material are considered during tooling review.
- Liquid Injection Molding:Liquid silicone injection molding meters and mixes the specified liquid silicone system before injection and cure in a heated mold. Compound selection, tooling and volume determine suitability.

A precision requirement starts with the drawing: identify critical diameters, sealing surfaces, hole positions and permitted flash or gate marks. Specify tolerances feature by feature instead of applying one accuracy claim to every dimension.
For flexible components, agree the measurement method, support fixture and conditioning before inspecting dimensions. Include mating-part dimensions and assembly tests where fit or sealing is the functional requirement. Samples are checked against the approved criteria before production approval.
